Here is my story using 10 words of the day 🙂 . Would love to read your comments, discussions on the story, even better if you drop your word story for the day.


anthropoid (a) resembling a human being in form.

(a) relating to the group of higher primates, which includes monkeys, apes, and humans.

(n) a higher primate, especially an ape or apeman.

bicker (v) argue about petty and trivial matters.

-“couples who bicker over who gets what from the divorce”

(v) (of water) flow or fall with a gentle repetitive noise; patter.

-“against the glass the rain did beat and bicker”

concise (a) giving a lot of information clearly and in a few words; brief but comprehensive.

dissemble (v) conceal or disguise one’s true feelings or beliefs.

-“an honest, sincere person with no need to dissemble”

(v) disguise or conceal (a feeling or intention).

-“she smiled, dissembling her true emotion”

extrovert (n) an outgoing, socially confident person.

-“like most extroverts he was a good dancer”

(n) a person predominantly concerned with external things or objective considerations.

(a) relating to, denoting, or typical of an extrovert.

-“his extrovert personality made him the ideal host”

futile (a) incapable of producing any useful result; pointless.

-“a futile attempt to keep fans from mounting the stage”

gruff (a) (of a voice) rough and low in pitch.

-“she spoke with a gruff, masculine voice”

(a) abrupt or taciturn in manner.

-“Robert’s gruff, no-nonsense approach”

heterodox (a) not conforming with accepted or orthodox standards or beliefs.

-“heterodox views”

impasse (n) a situation in which no progress is possible, especially because of disagreement; a deadlock.

-“the current political impasse”

judicious (a) having, showing, or done with good judgment or sense.

-“the judicious use of public investment”
