Here is my story using 10 words of the day 🙂 . Would love to read your comments, discussions on the story, even better if you drop your word story for the day.


abridge (v) shorten (a book, film, speech, etc.) without losing the sense.

(v) curtail (a right or privilege).

barterer (n) a trader who exchanges goods and not money
caricature (n) a picture, description, or imitation of a person in which certain striking characteristics are exaggerated in order to create a comic or grotesque effect.

-“a crude caricature of the Prime Minister”

(v) make or give a caricature of.

-“he was famous enough to be caricatured by Private Eye”

deflect (v) cause (something) to change direction; turn aside from a straight course.

-“the bullet was deflected harmlessly into the ceiling”

(v) (of an object) change direction after hitting something.

-“the ball deflected off Knight’s body”

(v) cause (someone) to deviate from an intended purpose.

-“she refused to be deflected from anything she had set her mind on”

elope (v) run away secretly in order to get married.

-“later he eloped with one of the housemaids”

fertile (a) (of soil or land) producing or capable of producing abundant vegetation or crops.

(a) (of a person, animal, or plant) able to conceive young or produce seed.

genus (n) a principal taxonomic category that ranks above species and below family, and is denoted by a capitalized Latin name, e.g. Leo.

heckler (n) someone who tries to embarrass you with gibes and questions and objections
imperious (a) arrogant and domineering.

jubilation (n) a feeling of great happiness and triumph.

-“Arlene was unable to conceal her jubilation”
